Jennie Kiều {this is my story}
I came to know Jesus in August 13, 2006. A friend asked me to go see an event called Harvest Crusade. At that time, I had no idea what the event was all about. I came with a smile on my face but was carrying a wounded heart. Right after I broke up with my boyfriend, I was in a deep emotional heart break. My friend did not know what was going on with me, but he knew that he has to take me to that event.
I sat there listening and reading the lyrics on the giant screen, my heart began to move and before I know it, tears started rolling down on my cheeks. I thought to myself, who is this Jesus, who is Jesus that they are worshiping and praising. That he would die for our sins, heals the broken-hearts and take away our pain. The thought of being a good person, or have good deeds became meaningless to me. I felt guilty, guilty for my sins even though I've never thought of myself a sinner, but that moment, the word of God touched my heart and I needed Jesus to be my Savior. That Sunday, witnessed by thousands, I came home with a new heart, with a peaceful mind and the best part of all, I found a friend, Jesus Christ.
From that day on, I came to know what it meant to be satisfied and loved. I no longer feel lonely because I have Jesus as a friend. My experience of believing into Jesus has radically changed my life and my perspective of the world. I really believe that God has been working through my whole life. He has been there for me all of my life, but I didn't acknowledge it. I thankful for this day, I now believe that each new day is a gift from God. God has our lives in his hands and he promised to give us peace. God says “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jer 29:11).
